First mothers day
Yesterday was my first official mothers day, it's still so hard to believe I am a mommy and that is definitely the best gift I could get being Oliver's mommy.
But it also doesn't hurt to get a little something from time to time ;) since this is our first mothers day (and I still hadn't gotten a push gift lol) Darin spoiled me and got me a brand new iPad! I love it, it is so nice to be able to FaceTime family since we are so far away and Oliver gets bigger every second, I cannot believe how much he has changed since he was born 4 weeks ago!
Anyway I just wanna say happy mothers day to all you moms out there and of course my own mother! I hope you felt the love on this special day just for mommies!

2 week doctors visit
Welp, Tuesday Oliver had his 2 week. Check up. He did so good and is a healthy boy! He is back up to his birth weight ( 9 lbs) and he has grown an inch and 3/4 ( he is now 22 3/4 inches) and on his way to the NBA, our little giant!
Head size: 60th percentile

Height: 90th percentile
He is growing so quick already! We just love him so much!

Oliver Bradford George
Our little man has finally come. He was due Sunday April 15th and he came to us at 6:32 pm on Monday April 16th. It was actually a shock to us because we thought he'd be a week late or more!
I was so worried I would not know when I was having real contractions but like they say "you just know" I knew. I called my cnm and went over to see her around 10:15 and was dilated to a 4 and completely effaced, she said you are in labor you can head to the hospital and gave me a high 5. I headed to the lobby where Darin was sitting and i said let's go, then I smiled and said we gotta head to the hospital! He was excited to say the least.
We headed home packed our bags and went to whole foods for an after labor snack.
When we got here I rode out labor and wasn't checked again until around 2 by then I was at a 6 and they steadily progressed over the next little while, it wasn't till I was about a 7-8 that it started getting hard.. There were some intense moments and a lot of help from my love, but we did it and at 6:32 our almost 9 pounder was born.
He is so gorgeous and special, we could not be happier and feel incredibly blessed to be guardians of such a sweet spirit.

"due date"
Today is Oliver's guess date of arrival... But I don't really see that happening today. Hopefully sometime this week though. I'm getting a little antsy for this big boy to get here!

4 years
I guess I could have combined my progress post with this one, but then darin wouldn't get his own special little shout out!
Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary... 4 years! What an amazing journey it's been so far. So many things have happened in four years and yet it has flown by so quickly,it seems like just the other day we were getting married in Washington DC.
I am so grateful for such a loving husband and excited soon to be daddy. Oliver and I are so lucky.
I love you babe, can't wait for another 4 years to come and go with you.

Progress report
39th week and we are playing the waiting game.
Had our doctors appointment today and not too many developments since my 35 week check ( the last time they did a vaginal exam, blahhh) I'm a little effaced and only a centimeter dilated. Talk about depressing, that's why I hate those exams!
We still think he's Gunna be a late comer. But we are ready when he is!
40 weeks on Sunday.

Bouncing baby boys..
Weekly apt. Today and it looks like I'm not growing a small baby in my uterus, my midwife thinks he will be between 8-9 lbs. But ya know what, I think I knew he wasn't Gunna be a small one! I got some newborn ( up to 7 lbs ) onesies sent to me from my sister in law and I said darin these are tiny there is no way these are fitting Oliver! He said you would be surprised! I said nope he is going to be a big boy! Lol
Can't wait for our big man to get here, we are ready! But unfortunately she thinks he will be late as well. So he may not make his little appearance until after his guess date, but that's cool too, my parents are coming April 21st and my sister in law and mother in law are leaving April 23rd so April 21st would be a perfect day (just a suggestion Oliver) ;) anyways, maybe my next post will have some baby pictures on it... We shall see.

What is going on?
Today has been an emotional overdrive, I've been soooo so grumpy but yet I feel like I could bawl my eyes out, my throat hurts ( I realllly hope not getting sick) I'm hungry, I can't sleep and I'm fuming right now!
Why why why!? I thought this was supposed to be a first/second trimester thing!?

Just for Oliver
So, mommy has been kind of a slacker in the "keeping up with pregnancy memories" department, so I figured I'd write down some on my blog for you and me both to look at someday.
1. I can't even begin to tell you how loved you already are, not just by me and daddy but by grandma, grandpa, great grandma and grandpa, aunts uncles and cousins! We are so so excited to meet you!
2. When I found out I was pregnant with you I was in shock, I was sure it was going to be so difficult to get you, but one perfectly timed day and you were made. You were meant to be with us and it was heavenly fathers plan for you to come when you did.
3. The first time I ever felt you move I was second guessing myself if I had really felt you or not, it wasnt consistent and the next time I'd feel you would be far between. But now I feel your little kicks and wiggles everyday and sometimes when I get upset you will kick me and it makes me smile knowing you're with me!
4. I don't have many pregnant pics and I didn't do the whole count down pic thing but trust me it's not you, mommy hates having her picture taken. But there are going to be tooooonnnnsss of pictures of you when you get here, you can count on that!
5. You have been such a breeze to carry around. I got so lucky so many times on a count of you. I didn't have much morning sickness, I didn't get GD I dont have GBS and my heart rate and weight gain have been good ( so hopefully you will be a sinch to deliver ;) ... )
6. Your dad likes to talk to you in my belly. We like to pretend argue on whether or not you will be a UNC fan like mommy or a DUKE fan like daddy ( just remember the year you were born duke got knocked out of the NCAA tournament by a number 15 seed in the first round!!!) :)
7. And lastly (for now) you will have 2 furry siblings to deal with when you get here, but I'm pretty sure they are excited for you to get here as well!

March Madness
What I'm guessing would be a long month of waiting and anticipating has now been consumed with march madness and score keeping, I have to say It couldn't come at a more perfect time! Instead of waiting around for the little one to come I am preoccupied worrying about my bracket! Gotta love the little things.

Home sweet home
Went back down south for a week to see family and friends and had two amazing baby showers thrown for me and little O. It was such a nice trip and We are so blessed to have such good friends who came out and supported us and gave us such beautiful gifts.
I was also lucky to meet one of my good friends beautiful new daughter born feb 21st. She was so tiny and adorable! Congrats Tukker and Kayla.
On a side note I will be 34 weeks on Sunday and I had a doc apt today, all is well and on schedule, my
Next visit I have to get my group b strep test :( but other than that not much is going on. Can't believe how fast time has flown by and that little O will be gracing us with his presence anytime in the next 3-8 weeks!!
We couldn't be more excited to meet our son!

Update
Today was my checkup and starting this month I go to every other week checkups! All is well with baby boy, we talked about his movements and I described a weird one I had last night and my nurse midwife told me that was actually a Braxton hicks contraction, I know your body is having them all throughout your pregnancy but it was cool to feel. I can not believe I am at 29 weeks I'll only have 10 more weeks to go on Sunday!! Cannot even believe how fast this has gone!
On February 22 I fly to ga for a baby shower then we will drive to nc for another baby shower and on feb 29 I'll fly back home, not Gunna be a relaxing vacation but it will be fun.I'm so excited to see friends and family! February is seriously going to flyyyy by.
Can't wait for little man to make his appearance.

Hypnobirthing
Darin and I are taking a hypnobirthing class to prep for baby O. This Saturday will be our 3rd class and we love it! I am determined to have my baby free of medicine and the constant poking and prodding. A lot of people get freaked out by the thought of having a baby with no medicine and the excruciating pain that that must mean but this class is so empowering and makes it so much easier to imagine your birth pain free. Every night since my last class I have been practicing my breathing and listening to my relaxation CDs and it is really so relaxing! Darin does them with me and I can honestly say the different breathing techniques are helpful in other aspects of life besides pregnancy and labor. I'm definitely getting excited about this birth I think it will be great! And before these classes darin didn't care either way how we had our baby and what that meant . it was just up to me. but now he is so happy with the way we have decided to do this and is thrilled to be involved in this in any way he can!

Baby season
I can't believe how many people are pregnant and due this year, it is def the season of babies. People I know well and people I know ok are popping out babies all Over the place this year, and the news of two others have recently come to my attention (although i can't say anything yet) i couldn't be more excited!!! My lucky little O will have tons of friendlys to play with!
