Syd a la movie Critic

So, Darin and I saw two movies in one weekend, Kung Fu Panda & WALL - E . Yes, it was an animation movie weekend, but that is just how we roll. We saw Kung Fu Panda on Friday night, and WALL - E Saturday (or today if you will). Kung Fu Panda was quite cute, but Darin was told that it was better than Horton hears a who even, but that was just not so (i don't think any animation movie out right now can top Horton, he is the love of my life... minus Darin of course) and although WALL - E wasn't awful, it just wasn't that great, and quite frankly i don't believe Hollywood can make a movie now a days without shoving it's political views down your throat, I mean when Global Warming meets environmental disregard meets obesity is in a children's movie, you know it's bad. but any who there is my movie criticism of the week. Have a good one!

My Husband is Amazing. I came home from school today and he had gotten off work early so we could have the missionaries over for dinner, and he was already makin dinner! He's the sweetest guy & I love him ... immensely

Weekend in Lincolnton

This past weekend, Darin and I drove to Lincolnton NC to visit Darin's family and to go to Darin's grandparents 50Th wedding anniversary! The wedding anniversary shindig was a lot of fun, and I got to meet MORE of Darin's family (yeah there are more believe it or not) ha ha he has a really large & crazy family, but they are a lot of fun. We were also lucky enough to be there when Marian (Darin's older sister) had her 3rd baby, A little boy they named James Nills Rice, Well, maybe not so little... he was 9 pounds & 20 inches long! he was a biggin, but not fat at all just solid! Suzi and Calvin were so excited when we took them to the hospital on Monday to see their new baby brother. Suzi kept calling him her baby James, those kids are adorable, and it's really hard to believe I'm an aunt. But i love them, and it was really neat being there and being a part of the whole thing! here's some pictures.

So, we are Almost done decorating our small apartment, There are still a few touch ups to be done here and there (you know girl things.. like pictures, art, and more pictures, and candles and more pictures ha ha), But so far it looks real cute (i think). Our bathroom still isn't near being finished, but once it is, it will be a nice little place to live. Here are some pictures I've taken of it so far, Enjoy!

Bestest Blover EVER

So i am going through a blogging frenzy ( i mean 3 blogs in one day, that must be some kind of record ) I just can't help it though, I hadn't blogged in so long before this that I'm just "in the mood" for some reason! But any who this is a blog about my best friend. Her name is Emma Tyreesha Ashment, but i call her Blove!

She is an amazing person, and I am so so lucky to have such a true blue friend!We met at church when we were like 14 but we were in different wards and weren't much of friends but merely acquaintances. When we were juniors in high school, she moved into the Kennesaw ward district and we became fast friends, We have seen one another through some pretty tough stuff, but it's been awesome seeing how much we have grown because of each others strengths! I love her and i couldn't ask for a better Blove!

Last weekend Janie and Adam came to visit good ole Kennesaw, and while they were in town we jammed, hard core. ha ha but seriously Janie is like a Jimi Hendrix spawn, she can rock like no other. And Darin and Adam of course are Pretty much better than Jimmy Page and Ron Wood combined!

OK OK so maybe i fibbed a little, but we had fun none the less!

Updo Contest.

So at school we like to play with hair and such... and a couple weeks ago we had an up do contest to finish up our week of "finishing" which is basically blow drying, smooth ironing, rollers, parting, up dos and so on... Well, I was quite nervous considering I'm not too big into up dos (none of that spirally curly twisty nonsense, i like to keep it simple, and considering I've never really done an up do!) but it was a lot of fun, and although my beautiful manikin head , "Becky", didn't win... I thought she looked quite beautiful. ha ha but seriously, I was proud guys! here are some pictures of Becky's up do, she's such a super star.
