Pretty Pretty Flowers

Today was super duper fun. Darin mi madre and I went to Scottsdale Farms and got lots and lots of pretty pretty flowers! When we got home we spent the rest of the day potting and planting. I potted some pretty pots if I do say so myself. I got a cute little windey stemmed tree and mi mama is gonna let me take him to Utah with me when Darin and I move, I named him Tree Beard, baby Tree beard to be exact (for now anyway). We have to get up early and plant some more tomorrow. I love spring.

If all goes well, Darin and I should be able to move into our little abode by this weekend yey! It's pretty fun being married, just kiddin, I Love it. Darin is so great even though we are both stubborn and disagree like little kiddies.

Just a quick run through

Well, it's official, I'm a married girl! Darin and I got married in the Washington D.C. temple on April 12Th. The temple was gorgeous and the trip was a lot of fun, A lot of our friends and family came and it made the trip really special.

The night before we got married, Juleigh, Paul, Darin & I went to the temple to walk around. It was nice to be able to walk around the temple before we got married the next day.
After we left the temple though , it was a different story... All hell broke loose, well kind of. The four of us drove down town to go see the monuments and stuff at night, On the way down there my car's battery light came on. we thought it was weird but thought nothing else of it, Then on the way home from down town, The car started stopping and then jerking forward. we ended up stopping completely on the side of the interstate in Washington D.C. To make a long story short, we finally got picked up and towed at around 2 A.M. & instead of Juleigh and Paul being able to drive my car back to Charlotte N.C. on Sunday, we had to leave it in D.C. to be fixed & fly back to D.C. after our honeymoon to pick it up and drive all the way back to Atlanta. It was quite the ordeal! ha ha
But, After all that we had a perfect end to our trip, Darin and I flew out of D.C. Sunday afternoon to Boston M.A. & spent a week driving up and down the coast of M.A. the towns were beautiful, the seafood was amazing and spending time with Darin was so much fun. On our last night we went to see Blue Man Group, that was the cheery on top.

Darin & I aren't too good at remembering to take pictures, but we're working on it. I'll have some more wedding pictures from the temple and our receptions up later! :)

Boy oh boy

So, today is April 8Th, I get married in 4 (technically 3 since today is almost over) days! I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by, and now I'm about to get married.
We are leaving tomorrow afternoon to head to Gastonia N.C. to get Paul and Juleigh (they are gonna ride with us to Washington D.C. and i couldn't be more excited! I'm really glad they are coming along, it'll make the trip that much more fun & it will be nice to see them since we haven't in quite some time!)
It took alot of looking and trying different things, but I FINALLY found my wedding dress (what can i say I'm a last minute kinda girl) And i absolutely love it! I couldn't be more thrilled!
So many of our friends and family are coming to D.C. to support us and be there for us and I am so blessed and so excited to see them all! Darin and i truly are lucky to have family and friends like we do!

I can't believe I found such an amazing guy. he is the best thing to happen to me and I am thrilled to be marrying him.

i heart oprah

Today i watched a very heart wrenching episode of Oprah, She spoke on the horrors of puppy mills and auctions. I always heard about puppy mills and that they are bad places for dogs, but I had no idea what really goes on in them! The people who run puppy mills treat animals like crops they farm for a living, not as living creatures.
The conditions the puppies live in are of course terrible, but the puppies eventually are sold to pet stores where they eventually (hopefully)find homes, but the mothers they use to bread the pups are kept in small cages (where they live the remainder of their lives usually never stepping foot on grass) for years and years until they can no longer reproduce, then they either kill them, or if the dog is lucky a puppy mill rescue worker will get a hold of them in time to rehabilitate the dog and hopefully find it a loving home.

I am an animal lover to the core, and this episode of Oprah broke my soul. I can not believe that people can be so cruel to animals. It is absolutely disgusting. I have decided that from here on out any animal i get will be from an animal rescue center or from the pound.

There are millions of animals put down every year because of neglect. they end up in pounds and there just aren't enough people in the world who are either willing or able to take in these poor animals and give them loving homes!

to learn more about the cruelty these animals face in puppy mills and how you can help, you can visit these sites. ( I have to warn you that some of the pictures and videos you can view are graphic and if you are an animal lover like me it will haunt you. but it will also educate you!)

Just a little Hollar at a rather creative woman!

I was browsing around Google today, trying to find ideas for my wedding cake that i STILL haven't found and i came across these unique little guys and this amazing women who creates them!!! They are hand made and each one is different and unique, she even names them! i want to use them to decorate with at my wedding reception!
Here are some individual birds she has made:

And here are some Bride and Groom birds for Wedding Cake toppers. I'm smitten!

She uses different fabrics and laces to make the little guys, here are some pictures of them in progress:

She also makes other things that are just as cute!
